Bill Miller Bar-B-Q (pc-ksat.com)

It is difficult to open a successful restaurant today, but it was undoubtedly as tricky or more in 1950 when Bill Miller took a $500 investment (loan) from his dad and opened his first business. He cut his teeth, not on the barbecue but a chicken and egg business. Learning as he went, he took that experience and opened a fried chicken restaurant three years later. Fried chicken lead to burgers which then lead to barbecue, and Bill Miller had found his calling. He didn’t do it alone, his wife, Ila Faye Miller, and their four children made it a real family business. He and his family have been serving barbecue to the San Antonio area ever since. They not only found their niche on how to serve great barbecue but also where they sell it. The southern Texas region of San Antonio offers 73 locations, that’s a lot of folks looking to Bill Miller for their barbecue. Oh, they’re not just serving barbecue any longer, keep reading below to see what another successful chain the company started.

In Summary

When I first began researching Bill Miller Bar-B-Q, I saw that they had 73 locations which weren’t that surprising in studying chain restaurants. But then I discovered that was just in one state and only in the greater metropolitan area of San Antonio. That’s a (family) business that knows where their customers are and how to give them what they want and in Texas, that’s barbecue. Some restaurants use discounts and promotions to draw their customers in; Bill Miller chooses an affordable yet high quality of food in a southern environment that fits perfect in San Antonio. If you happen to be in south Texas, and there are plenty of reasons to visit, stop by Bill Miller’s for some barbecue or seafood and tell them we said hello.
